Why is it always Appointment?
If you have been an ACT! user for awhile, you likely noticed a little nuance that annoys a lot of us ACT! lovers. You click Record History to record that phone call that just came in, and the Type defaults to “Appointment”. What the? Appointment isn’t one of the ACT! core Activity Types. ACT! users expect Call, Meeting or To-do. What is this Appointment of which you speak?
It’s a catch all for the Outlook Calendar integration. If you sync your ACT! and Outlook calendars, anything that originated in Outlook appears in ACT! as an Appointment. (Stepping away from the soap box to avoid the rant about the advantages of ACT!’s scheduling over Outlook. We’ll save that for another time.) Back to our point – when you click on the History button to record your impromptu Calls, etc., Appointment is the default Activity Type. Well, not in our ACT!. When we click on History, guess what happens? It defaults to Call, just like we expect. How’d we do that? Courtesy of our friends at ACT TODAY, we have a new tool that will change that for you.
You want that too? We’d be happy to help. Give us a shout at support@3leafcrm.com or 410.472.5058. This is just one of a many outside-the-software-box solutions we offer.
