What’s new in Act! v20.1
We’ve made it to spring! How are those 2018 resolutions for your business going? If you’ve had big plans in place since the start of the year, you might need a little extra help in making them happen. Maybe an enhanced CRM system can help.
The good news, Act! has exciting product updates! The new release incorporates some great features to help you get more organized.
Act! CRM, originally released in 1987, is now on v20.1. That’s a lot of iterative learning about what customers need and really use in a CRM system. The company is calling the new version “the most adaptable, everywhere, connected Act! experience yet.”
Last year, we saw Act! tie in Amazon Alexa and add various other features with the big release of v20. The latest update is more of a refinement with next generation Outlook integration, Office 365 compatibility, and Exchange contact and calendar sync. If you’re a Microsoft shop, there’s good stuff in there for you.
The other big change is in custom tables, available in Act! Premium Plus, a new level of subscription in the Act! product family. Custom Tables allows you to create many-to-many relationships users struggled with in previous versions. Imagine you sell office equipment. Each customer may have many units. With custom tables you can create an Equipment table, and each Contact, Company or Group can have multiple piece of equipment related, all with their own specific data points – such as serial numbers, service plan expiration, make and model numbers. This feature opens a whole new world for Act! database customization. To make it even easier, Act! has packaged industry-specific templates as a starting point.
Finally, Act! Insight dashboards are now more customizable, and Act! Companion got a sleeker, more mobile-friendly design. All in all, a nice incremental update from a long-term leader.
